In class:  Go to Media Center to learn more about finding sources (for both the research paper and culminating project) and creating an MLA source lists using easybib.com ("Writing & Research in the Digital Age" Lesson 8)

HW:  Newsela article #9 ("Warm Waters") due this Friday, bring in index cards for note-taking, Quarter 2 independent reading book must be finished by Jan. 23


Tuesday

In class:  Go to Media Center to learn about note-taking methods:  summarizing, paraphrasing, using direct quotations, and setting up note cards ("Writing and Research in the Digital Age" Lessons 9 & 10)

HW:  "Paraphrase & Summary" worksheet due tomorrow, Newsela article #9 ("Warm Waters") due this Friday, bring in index cards tomorrow for note-taking, find and bring in additional source materials for LA research paper if necessary, Quarter 2 independent reading book must be finished by Jan. 23
