Monday

In class:  "The Tell-Tale Heart" plot picture sort, listen to story and take notes to find evidence to defend that the narrator of the story is sane & insane (find evidence to defend both claims), record specific evidence/lines from the story on a graphic organizer

HW:  Newsela #16 (Video Games) due this Friday, Reading Log #6 due Friday 3/27


Tuesday

In class:  Finish recording evidence from "The Tell-Tale Heart" to support both claims that the narrator is insane and sane

Wednesday

In class:  Read and take notes on elements of argument on pg. 982 of the text book, read and analyze the argument presented in the model "Why Can't I Live on French Fries?" on pg. 983 of the text book by answering the Close Read questions

Thursday

In class:  Review evidence recorded from "The Tell-Tale Heart" & choose a claim to defend in an argumentative essay, begin outlining essay using the graphic organizer provided

Friday

In class:  Meet in Newsela reading groups to discuss and correct this week's Newsela article/questions, finish outlining "The Tell-Tale Heart" argumentative essay, begin drafting the introduction paragraph of your essay
